Ofsted, exceptionally impressed!

Dear Purbeck families,

As you are probably aware we had a visit from Ofsted this week. Three inspectors visited across the two days and they looked at all aspects of the school. They completed an ‘ungraded’ inspection (which is what they often do with schools that are rated ‘Good’) this means that they can not officially change the grading of the school at the end of the inspection but they can make recommendations.

We are not allowed to share the official outcome of the inspection just at the moment as the report has to be moderated. However, what I can tell you is that the inspectors were exceptionally impressed with what they saw and that the overall outcome could not have been better!

I wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the students. They exemplified the true ethos of the school over the two days (as they always do) of ‘kindness, aspiration, perseverance’. Inspectors saw calm corridors, purposeful lessons, and spoke to students who could articulate their learning and their experience of the school. They also saw excellent teaching, and the exceptional support that students are given both pastorally and academically. We were all very proud of the students over those two days.

Can I also thank you all for being supportive, we had some lovely messages, and the parent survey that Ofsted completed was also very positive, thank you if you completed it.

The official report will come back to us within 30 school days and we can’t wait to share that with you all.

Have a lovely long weekend and we will welcome everyone back next Tuesday.

Take care
