National Trust and Oly Rush of Project Planet Earth visit TPS

The National Trust Level 2 Environment Leaders enjoyed a double whammy of visitors in their session this week, in preparation for their participation in the Ocean Day at Studland on June 8th. Clare Meaden of the National Trust and Oly Rush of Project Planet Earth came to help us prepare and plan for the event, thinking about why we are involved and what we can do to raise awareness of sea pollution, both on this day and beyond.

Oly told us all about his motivation and inspiration for his endurance swims - noticing plastics washed up at Chapman’s Pool sparked a desire to be instrumental in cleaning up the seas and shoreline, and that has grown into the building of a charity, organising beach cleans, raising awareness and bringing about real change.

Our Environment Leaders will be at the Ocean Day on 8th June to practice some of the leadership skills they have been learning in their course. The event is open to all, so come along and join in the activities and the Big Beach Clean. https://planetpurbeck.org/event/clean-and-green-family-day/
