Year 9 Rounders Tournament

For once the weather had been kind and the girls arrived at Thomas Hardy on a hot summer’s day.

Their first match was against Budmouth. Their fielding was awesome and their opponents found it hard to score half a rounder let alone 1 whole rounder. This was a promising start and the girls won 3½ v 1½.

Their second match was against Woodroofe. These girls were a well-disciplined team and although we had finally started hitting the ball their fielding was excellent and we found it difficult to catch them. They opened their innings and scored 7 ½, we unfortunately only scored 3½. However Emily Wilkinson did hit an amazing shot and we did score some good rounders.

The last match was against Thomas Hardy B. The girls had this in the bag until the 15th good ball when our fielding really let us down. The last 4 balls of the innings saw Thomas Hardy score 2½ rounders due to our mistakes. As a result we lost 4½ v 5½. Robyn Nelson did make a tremendous catch.

Well Done girls we will find our form again soon, and well done Jasmine Nadaf who did brilliantly considering she was a year 7 playing in a year 9 tournament.
