Update from the Headteacher
A quick update from the school on progress this week.
All students are now settling back into the school routines. It has been a very smooth return and this has been down to the mature and sensible way students have reacted to being back in school.
We have now very nearly completed the mass testing programme in the school. We just have Year 8 and 9 to test on Monday. At that point we will have offered/completed the three Lateral Flow Tests to all students. The testing team will have done an amazing job completing around 3000 tests. Fortunately, we have not had any positive tests to date.
As of next Tuesday, we will be sending students home with Home Testing Kits. Information was sent out yesterday with all of the links required to complete those home tests. If there is a positive home test then please isolate immediately and ring the school to make sure that we have also received that information. If a home test is positive you are then required to book a further PCR test. Hopefully, all of your questions about home testing have been answered in the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section of the information sent home, but if you do require any further help then please don’t hesitate to ask.
We have now set the dates for Year 11 and 13 to formally leave the school. Year 11 will have their last day of school on Thursday 27th May, and Year 13 on Friday 28th May. For those Year 11’s returning to The Purbeck School for Year 12 there will some specific transition arrangements for them in the week beginning 14th June. We will give out further details of this nearer that date.
Thank you again for all your continued support.
