UKMT Junior Maths Challenge 2022

Today (Wednesday 27th April), selected Year 7 and 8 students completed the Junior Maths Challenge paper organised by the UK Maths Trust. The papers are designed to stimulate mathematical problem solving, encourage learners to think outside-the-box and apply mathematical skills learnt in lessons to sophisticated conundrums. In the past, our students have achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates, and many have qualified for further rounds. The results from today’s event won’t be released for a few weeks, but we congratulate all of the students who took part, an excellent effort was made by all!

A massive thank you also goes out to the parents who continue to support their children in their academic and extra-curricular endeavours. Why not try one of the questions yourself? A question from the 2021 paper is below. The answer is underneath – try not to peak!
