UKMT Junior Maths Challenge 2019

The results are in! April saw 87 students sitting the Junior Maths Challenge, a yearly paper designed to stimulate mathematical problem solving.  Four students were awarded Gold, seven students were awarded Silver and seventeen students achieved Bronze. Congratulations to all of the Year 7s and 8s who took part, an excellent effort was made by all. A massive thank you also goes out to the parents who continue to support their children in their academic and extra-curricular endeavours.  An example from the 2018 paper is below.

A special mention goes to Harry Hann, Finn Wilde and Jack Chapman for achieving a score high enough to be awarded a ‘Gold’ certificate, and to secure them a place in the Junior Maths Kangaroo, due to be sat later in the month. An example of the style of questions on the Junior Kangaroo can be seen below – a challenge that I am sure they will rise to!
