UKMT Intermediate Challenge

Each year over 6 million students from over 50 countries take part in competitions organised by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT). The papers are designed to promote and stimulate interest in mathematics within and beyond the classroom; an example of the questions can be seen below.

Once again, the beginning of February saw nearly one hundred Year 9 and Year 10 students compete in the UKMT Intermediate Challenge, with almost half of all students who took part receiving a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate.

A special congratulations to Jessica Murphy (Year 9) and Joseph Daly (Year 10) for achieving the highest score in their year groups and qualifying for exclusive follow on rounds; Jo is one of only 500 Year 10 students in the country to be selected to complete in the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad! A massive well done to all of those involved!
