The Purbeck School is the best performing state school for sixth form provision in the County

The Purbeck School is the best performing state school for sixth form provision in the County. Figures released by the Department for Education have again shown what excellent opportunities are on offer for sixth form students at The Purbeck School and places the school in the top 15% of schools nationally. The school has topped the charts for state schools across the region (Dorset, Poole, and Bournemouth) and show that students who attend The Purbeck School make more progress than they would at other sixth forms. This release is hot on the heels of the GCSE progress scores which also placed the school as one of the top performing schools in the country.

Students at The Purbeck School have made particularly strong progress in chemistry, physics, biology, maths, English, PE and the humanities. Headteacher, Adam Darley commented

‘Once again the hard work of staff, students and parents has been recognised by this department for education release. We are so proud of the achievements of our students, and it also shows what an excellent sixth form we have on offer here. The facilities, the dedication of the teachers, and the expectations that we have of our students are second to none’
