The GCSE Countdown
Well that was a bit of a different week – 2 days of school closure for snow and ice! I hope that you enjoyed this rare south coast phenomenon. Of course I know that all Year 11 students will have used the two days wisely to stay in and revise!
We have now completed the first Food Tech exams – students approached them in a professional, prepared and calm manner and Mrs Denny reported that the students performed excellently. There are more Food Tech exams this week and any students that missed their exam due to the snow last week will have their exam rescheduled. The English speaking exams are continuing this week and next – and again the students should be commended on their attitude and approach. Some Year 11 parents have also been invited in this week to meet with teachers and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
This week the revision tip is to watch a very short video – it is a newsbeat video on how to revise and it explains 3 key tips for revision. The last one is perhaps the most important in that asks students to use what they have learnt – put it into context, perhaps the best way of doing this is through the use of past papers.
The link for the video is here:
Remember to ensure that phones are out of sight during revision time and I will write again next week.
