The Amy Winehouse Foundation
On Thursday 4th May, The Purbeck School welcomed The Amy Winehouse Foundation in to school who spoke to students about resilience, self esteem and healthy coping strategies.
Students had year group assemblies which were delivered, by one of two speakers, depending on the year group students were in. Both Joe and Antonia, who work for the foundation, shared their lived experiences with students; Joe & Antonia talked through many of the challenges they have faced in their lives, the triggers for these challenges and how their different their lives are today.
It is safe to say that both students and staff found the assemblies incredibly inspiring and the level of respect shown by students towards these individuals was incredible.
