Year 10 students returned from this year’s Work Experience, having had an amazing time with a variety of local employers and businesses in the area. It gave students the opportunity to test out a particular job they may be considering in the future, and also an opportunity to develop key employability skills such as resilience and communication. Throughout the week of the 5th of February, I attended work experience at a factory for the cosmetics company ‘LUSH’. The staff at the factory were very welcoming and kept me busy all week, so made sure I got the most out of my short time. The factory is made up of multiple departments. The departments I visited include the following; Bubbles, Soaps, Digital fulfilment, Ballistics (bath bombs) and massage products.
On the first week of February, I attended 5 days of work experience at David James Architects and Partners Ltd. In my week at ipconsult, I not only gathered plenty of knowledge on the intricacies of Intellectual Property, but I also refined my critical thinking skills vital to the field. What is initially perceived to be quite an exact science, soon entails a series of creative challenges. One combines a sharp grasp on the minutiae of the law with an inventive and open mind-set, to navigate the complex world of
