Rotary Rocks Competition

Sunday 19th November 2017

Swanage & Purbeck

The Competition is open to groups, bands, ensembles or any combination of instrumental or vocal musicians.    All participants must be between 11 and 18 years of age.

The first ten eligible bands to apply will take part; any later applications may be held as reserves.

Bands must consist of at least three members, and must define themselves within an appropriate genre which can include ‘rock’, ‘pop’ etc – or any derivative with a contemporary repertoire.

Vocal-only bands are permitted, but they must sing in at least 3-part harmony, not unison.

To be eligible, all band members must live or attend school in Purbeck (incorporating Swanage, Langton Matravers, Worth Matravers, Kingston, Corfe Castle, Stoborough, Studland & Wareham).

Bands can perform their own original works or covers.

The Competition will take place in The Centre, Chapel Lane, Swanage on 19th November 2017, starting at 6pm.

The Sunday evening competition will be open to the public, and will take the form of a rock concert, with DJ music between live performances. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

First, Second and Third prizes will be awarded, to include future performance opportunities, and an additional writer’s prize for the best original work.
