Pants for Rwanda!

Last week’s appeal to students, parents and staff has been met with a fantastic response with more than two wheelie bins of pants already collected in readiness to send to Africa. The Purbeck School works in partnership with The Amakuru Trust to support educational projects in Rwamagana, Rwanda. This Christmas we asked for donations of brand new pants to be given to former street children who are now housed and assisted by an organisation in Rwanda called SACCA. Whilst we can take for granted having fresh and new clothes, the children who live in the centres for boys and for girls have very little indeed, and are dressed in second hand clothing. But they do have safety, education, and hope of a better future thanks to SACCA. Although small, our contribution of new underwear will make a difference to these children.

In January we will once again request donations to help support the six students that Purbeck sponsors to attend The Excel School in Rwamagana.

In the picture you will see nine of the fourteen Purbeck students who will travel to Rwanda next year along with a string of super pants (it is not too late to send more in!). Many thanks for your support and a Happy Christmas from all of us.
