Outstanding result at Oxford University

We are delighted to have received a commendation from Oxford University for one of our former Sixth Form Students Sam Brown. The university have sent a letter to Mr Darley :-

“I thought you would like to hear from us about the outstanding result achieved by your former student Sam in his Prelims in MBiochem Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry.

Sam came to us with a strong reference from The Purbeck School, which has proved to be entirely justified.  He settled into university life well, as the reports on his first term show.  We were delighted that his hard work and the quality of his intellectual engagement with the subject were recognized in the First Preliminary Examination, in which he achieved a Distinction.

It is always a great pleasure when an able and committed student achieves his maximum potential as Sam clearly has done.  We look forward to seeing Sam continue to develop over the course  of his degree, and we are confident in his ability to continue to produce work of a commendable quality and to achieve good marks in the Final Honours Examination.

I wanted to share Sam’s success with you and to thank you for the very good preparation he clearly received before coming to us.  Needless to say, we hope you will send us more applicants of Sam’s calibre.”

Very well done Sam!
