Outstanding A level results at the Purbeck School
Once again Purbeck students have posted impressive results and nearly all of our students have been able to secure the grades they require to progress to their first choice of University or to take up their apprenticeship placements. There have been some superb individual results with a number of students achieving A*/A grades across the board. An exceptional A*A*A* will enable Sam Ibbotson to read Mathematical Science at Bath University; with A*AA Laura Wild will be reading English Lit and History at Manchester; with A*AAB Simon Cox will be reading Physics at Bath University; with AAA Imogen Radestock will be reading Architecture at Bath University; with AAB, Megan Hocking will be studying Medicine at Exeter University, Oliver Hall will be reading Architecture at Bath University, Toby Anstey will be reading Law at Exeter University, and Josh Turner will be reading Politics and International Relations at LSE. Amongst those taking up prestigious apprenticeships are Amy Gallogley (Sunseeker), Thomas White (Wessex Water), and George Slack (ExxonMobil).
Subjects have achieved exceptional success; Sport led the way with every single student being awarded the equivalent of an A*/A or B grade – a phenomenal achievement. A significant number of other subjects achieved at least 50% of their grades awarded at either an A*/A or B including Physics, Photography, Business Studies, Product Design, Further Maths, Sociology, History, Health and Social Care, Art, and Politics.
Adam Darley, Headteacher, said ‘As always these results are testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of their teachers, and the support of their parents. We are all extremely proud of the fantastic results that our students have deservedly received today. Whether they are moving into apprenticeships, employment, or moving onto University we wish them all the very best for the future’.
