New Chair of Governors announced at The Purbeck School.
We are delighted to announce that Ashley Pellegrini has been nominated and appointed as the new Purbeck School Chair of Governors.
Ashley has been on the Board of Governors for over 5 years and has been the Vice Chair as well as the Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee. Ashley has a wealth of experience in the educational sector. He has been a headteacher, an educational consultant, and worked with the national government on a range of policy initiatives. Ashley is passionate about comprehensive education and the opportunities that it can provide for all our young people.
Ashley takes over from Peter Scupholme who has been Chair of Governors for 12 years. Peter has seen huge change in the educational sector during that time and has helped guide the school throughout. Peter commented,
‘It’s been a real privilege to lead our excellent governing body, and a pleasure to meet and work with so many talented and dedicated staff. Best of all has been seeing our students grow and achieve so much as they prepare for adulthood’. Peter will remain on the Board as the Vice Chair.
Headteacher, Adam Darley, paid tribute to Peter,
‘Peter has been real champion of education in the Purbeck region. He has consistently worked to support the development of this school to ensure that young people in this area receive the very best education and opportunities. On behalf of the students, staff and parents past and present I would like to thank Peter for everything that he has done. I look forward to working with Ashley as the new Chair and know that Peter will still be supporting the school in his new role as Vice Chair’.
