Music trip to watch the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the Poole Lighthouse

On Wednesday 13th March, Purbeck music students visited Poole Lighthouse to watch the BSO perform music by John Williams and Hans Zimmer. This opportunity gave a unique insight in to the rehearsal process of a world class orchestra, playing music from Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean to name but a few.

The students enjoyed the experience and can’t wait for the next trip. Finn Wilde said ‘It was really good, I was inspired by the incredible playing and it was fantastic to get a better insight in to the rehearsal process’. Helen Turnock agreed, exclaiming ‘It was really fun, the pieces were really good, and the oboe playing was excellent’.

Thank you to the BSO Participate team for offering such an excellent opportunity for free, and to the parents who supported the trip.
