Message from the Headteacher – 26th February, 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone back from the 8th March. Hopefully, you all received the communication from the school about the way that we intend to return to school (if for any reason you did not it has also been published on the website here). If you do have any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact the school. I will write again towards the end of next week reminding everyone about the Covid protocols that we have in place, including the new guidance on wearing masks throughout the day and during lessons, and how the testing regime will work.

This week has also seen the publication of information about the way in which Year 11 and 13 are to be assessed. I will be writing to Year 11 and 13 parents/carers next week with more details about how we intend to proceed. Please be assured that the school will do everything it can to ensure that the process is professional and transparent (as we did last year). I know that it will be a blow to many of our students that they will not have the chance to showcase what they can do in an examination, however, no student will be disadvantaged and we will ensure that there is a robust and fair process in place.

We continue to have excellent work being sent through during the lockdown, this week the Lockdown Learner of the week is Emily McDonald for her commitment to English, well done Emily, enjoy spending the voucher. Well done to all of our students, keep it going, we are nearly there!

Once again thank you to everyone for their support, I will be in touch again next week.

Take care

Adam Darley
