Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parent/Carer

Just a quick update from the school.

We had a successful visit from the K9 drugs dog unit this week. Pudding and Ink were quite a hit with the students and staff as they went around their business. The dogs will be back in the school at intervals throughout the year as part of our drugs awareness programme. We will also be running some sessions with Escape Line in the New Year for parents and students to attend.

Christmas jumper day today brought a festive feel to the school and has raised a significant sum of money for the Save the Children, thanks to all who took part and donated.

Next week there are a number of events around the environment. There is a sixth form sustainability conference that is investigating ways of reducing the impact of humans on the environment. This is being virtually hosted by a number of Universities and should be an excellent experience for those involved. Some of our year 8 and 9 students are also involved with a separate conference that is investigating how we can all work towards having a smaller carbon footprint.

The last week of term will be a House celebration week, culminating in a pizza and film event for those students who have gained the most House Points this term. Well done to all those who have gained House Points and Super 7’s this term and especially those invited to the event next Wednesday.

On Friday 17th December, Sixth Form students will be wearing fancy dress and asking for donations to buy a defibrillator for the school.  We are all grateful for any support you are able to give again.

Finally, a reminder that we will be finishing earlier next Friday (12.10), the buses will be picking up as normal.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care
