Message from the Head Teacher

Dear Parents/Carers,

Just a quick catch up from the school this week.

Year 11 and 13 have their mock examinations approaching quickly (they are starting on November 15th). Hopefully, they are all now busy with revision, as these examinations are a really useful tool for preparing students for the final examinations in the summer.

There are some very useful study tips for revision on our website here:

We also have Year 11 and 13 parents’ evening this half term – these events will both be virtual. We have also taken the decision that our sixth form open evening will move online. More details of these events will be sent out nearer the time and please do keep a watch on the website for information.

This week was due to be flu jab week, unfortunately, due to Covid the School Health Team were forced to cancel their visits to the school. Therefore, we will keep you informed as to when they might be rebooking into school. Re Covid, we will be keeping masks in place for the foreseeable future, unless there is a significant shift downwards in the local Covid numbers. As always we will keep this under review.

We will be shortly sending out a survey to all parents to gain your opinions on a wide range of subjects relating to the school. This is something that we do every 3 or 4 years and it is invaluable to have your input to help move the school forward. As you will be aware we are aiming to become an Academy school (with the Wessex Multi Academy Trust), the plan is that this will formally happen in January 2022.

Well done to the 22 students receiving Super 7’s this week – I hope they remember to pick up their free hot chocolate in the D3 café!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Take care,

Adam Darley
