Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning
The Charity Team would like to thank everyone who participated in Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning by buying cakes at Purbeck on Thursday. We are especially grateful to everyone who brought in their own cakes – they all looked absolutely delicious! The winner of the best decorated cake competition was Felicity Munns from Year 8.
By selling cakes during break, lunch and the open evening, we were able to make £182, all of which will go to Macmillan. The charity uses their funds to provide information, care and support for those affected by cancer; campaigning to improve government support available; and funding research into cancer.
The money we raised is enough to pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event to improve these aspects of their life. There would also enough left over to run Macmillan’s online forum for over 3 hours, supporting the hundreds who visit it each day. Every cake bought or donated at Purbeck made a difference.
Additional donations are welcome and can be left at the reception or SFC office. Thank you!
