Letter from the Headteacher
Dear Parent/Carer
I wanted to write to give you an update from the school as we near the end of the first half term.
I would like to thank all of our students for reacting so positively this term to all the challenges that have faced them. They really have hit the ground running and we have all been impressed with how well students have settled into new routines. I would also like to publicly thank all of the teaching and support staff at the school who have had to adapt to new ways of working, as always, they have faced the challenge with positivity and professionalism.
As you may be aware a number of schools in the area have now had live Covid cases. We are fortunate that we have not had any yet, but there is of course always the possibility that this situation could change very quickly. I wanted to assure you that we have the measures in place to respond to such a situation. In the event of a live case in school, we will contact the Health Authorities who would then discuss the next steps. We are planned and ready for this eventuality.
We do not know whether the Government will ask us to have a two week half term (or circuit break), but again I would assure you that if this is the case and we are asked to provide support for students during this time that we are ready and planned for this.
Could I also ask for your help in a couple of areas. The first is that students continue to bring in their own school equipment, it is not advisable to be sharing any equipment at the moment so we are asking that students are fully prepared for their school day. Secondly, for students travelling to school on the bus it is important that they are sat in the same seat every day, we are ensuring that this happening at the end of school day, but a reminder of the importance of this from home would also be welcome. Finally, we have now handed out close to 1000 face masks, could we ask that students bring their own and that they also have hand sanitiser if possible.
Thank you as always for your support.
