We had an exciting opportunity with Bournemouth University STEM Outreach Programme, they visited School Friday 6th July 2018 to deliver a thrilling workshop to some of our female students in year 7, 8 and 9. This workshop combined design, engineering and programming with team work and problem solving skills. Pupils worked in small teams to program and customise LEGO® EV3 robots to complete a series of tasks.
This workshop focuses heavily on the skill shortage in the UK surrounding subjects related to computing, engineering, and cyber security. However the tasks pupils needed to complete, featured a range of different STEM careers thus promoting the diversity of options within STEM. An exciting day had by all!
