Every young person needs high quality career guidance to make an informed decision about their future. At The Purbeck School our careers programme is designed match the government recommended eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 many of the careers activities with external providers and trips have had to be put on hold for the present time.
We deliver our programme through activities within the subject and PSHE/citizenship curriculum together with bespoke activities and events both within school and at F.E, H.E. and employer locations to meet the needs of each student. The Gatsby benchmarks are blended with our school vision of Respect, Aspiration and Perseverance to equip students with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need for the future; to become active participants in the world and make effective contributions to society.
We commission the professional careers service Ansbury https://www.ansbury.co.uk/ to assist us with personal delivery of careers advice and guidance. We are also very grateful to the number of employers and ex-students who support our students through lecture programmes, enterprise activities, discussion groups, mock interviews and work experience in gaining confidence and skills.
Our Careers Lead at The Purbeck School is Debs Rayner supported by the Careers Co-ordinator Maria Beale. Please feel free to contact us either through the school office or directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
