History and RE Trip to London
45 year 9 students completed a busy and adventurous day trip to London, to support their History and RE studies. They started by visiting Neasden Temple, the largest Hindu temple in Europe. This inspiring building is hand-carved from 28,000 pieces of marble! The students experienced an Aarti ceremony. Next, a tube ride and a bit of walking brought us to the Imperial War Museum, where students were amazed by the huge exhibits (e.g. a whole Spitfire, suspended in air) on display. One more tube journey brought the group to HMS Belfast, a Second World War cruiser moored in the Thames. Exploring the ship was a great experience, but the location was equally impressive, with a backdrop of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and The Shard enjoyed at sunset.
The students were a credit to themselves and the school, well done all!
