Funding children’s education in Rwanda

At the end of last term we were delighted to present a cheque for £1055 to Mike Hayes, Projects Director of the Amakuru Trust. This money was raised by the kind contributions of Purbeck parents and staff and will once again support the education of children in the Excel School, Rwamagana. Assistant Head Simon Holmes, who has led the last two student trips to Rwanda said, ‘We are privileged and proud to provide this funding which will pay for the schooling of eight children from impoverished families. Last year we met those we sponsored out in Rwanda and they are lovely children who are making great progress.’

The Purbeck School will be holding a Rwanda fundraising ‘Night at the Dogs’ soon – all details will be confirmed this week.
