Freddie raised an amazing £1280
Freddie Woolston in Year 11 has been involved in some serious fundraising for research into cancer. Freddie raised an amazing £1280 through a sponsored walk. As Freddie explains below he has had personal experience of how cancer can affect family life
‘I’ve been heavily affected this year by cancer with four members of my family being diagnosed with a variation of it, sadly losing my Grandma in April and since having another Nan and Uncle diagnosed with terminal cancers, as well as my dad having been diagnosed with throat cancer in August, who now after an operation is currently in 6 weeks of treatment. Throughout these times the cancer unit at Poole Hospital have been so important to my family and I felt it was my responsibility to give back to them as much as I can. I walked 22 miles and raised much more money than I ever expected. This will not be the last piece of charity work I will be doing for them and other similar charities. I will continue to raise money for them as they continue to make my families lives easier through such difficult times. Any donations from anyone is appreciated, every little donation is a step closer to beating cancer!
Well done Freddie, we are all super proud of you.
