Digital Wave 2017

On Monday 2nd October, 33 Computer Science students from The Purbeck School visited Bournemouth BIC for Digital Wave, the largest digital youth conference in the UK.

The one-day conference, which has run for several years, brings together people from a range of digital technologies, and showcases careers and opportunities in game development, visual effects studios, digital agencies and global pioneers in technology.

The BIC was a hive of activity as students had the chance to get hands-on with a range of new technologies, including VR headsets, 3D printing pens, robots and interactive games, as well as talks by leaders in the digital and creative industries.  The conference has a significant focus on careers, and in addition to talks, the exhibitors area includes representatives from a number of digital companies keen to discuss potential jobs and further education opportunities with students.

Digital Wave is a great day out for anyone contemplating a career in computing and digital media, and we look forward to returning in 2018.
