CPR lessons for Years 7, 8 and 9

Over the last few weeks we have made use of the British Heart Foundations equipment, teaching pupils in Yr7/8/9 CPR. They provided us with a step by step DVD and mannequins for our students to practise on. It is estimated that if all students in secondary school were taught CPR as part of their curriculum 5000 more people per year would survive a heart attack. The students were really enthusiastic and learnt such an important life skill, with help from our sixth form Purbeck Paramedics! This will now roll out over all Key stage 3 PSHE lessons before Christmas and all Key Stage 4 PSHE after Christmas.
