Climate workshop – Year 9
On Wednesday 10th November, 28 year 9 geographers went to Leeson House to attend their first ever climate change workshop. The students took part in a range of activities including measuring how much carbon the trees in the Leeson House grounds contain, working out their personal carbon footprints as well as investigating where food comes from and its subsequent impact on the environment. The students were fantastic and finished the workshop with personal pledges to reduce their impacts on the planet.
We were lucky enough to have BBC Radio Solent attending the workshop and a short report about the workshop was on Steve Harris Dorset Breakfast show on Monday 15th November. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p09z63f1 (The Purbeck School piece is from 16min 30 seconds)
