Changes to reporting

Dear Parents/Carers

As we near the end of term you will receive your final reports for the year. We have consulted with parents and students about the reports and made some changes that we would like to make you aware of.

On your son/daughter’s next report we will comment on the core principles of the school, Respect, Aspiration, and Perseverance. The principles are explained on the pictures below and will hopefully give you a much richer picture of how your child is approaching school in each of their subject areas. There will still be a comment by the teacher with a next step.

In Year 7 and 8 we will now place two estimated grades ie 4/5 on the report; this is the level that we would we would expect you son/daughter to be at by Year 11. In Year 9, 10 and 11 we will place one estimated grade ie 5, as by Year 9 we have been able to fine tune which grade your son/daughter should be aiming for across all of their subjects. Teachers will then decide whether your son/daughter is above/on/ or below track. Year 12 will receive a trial grade (where they currently are) and a predicted grade.

There is an example report below that explains all of the aspects of the report.
