Change to A Level grading

Yesterday the Secretary of State and Ofqual agreed to change the grading for A level results to the Centre Assessment Grades (CAG), if this grade was higher than the grade awarded by their algorithm.

This will change many of the grades (for the better) for students at The Purbeck School.

We do not know how these grades will be formally changed, and how students will be formally told. We are expecting that these grades will be released to students imminently as they already have this data.

However, if you are a Year 13 student who received their grades and need to know their Centre Assessment Grade before any formal release then please do email one of the sixth form team (Mrs Rayner, Mrs Scott, Miss Mason) or myself and we will issue them to you.

The grades that are now in place are the fairest that could have been awarded and we believe properly reflect the hard work and the dedication of many of our students.

Once again congratulations to Year 13 on a superb set of results, stay in touch, and good luck for the future.

Take care,

Adam Darley
Headteacher
