Amelia’s journey from Sixth Form to Registered Midwife
This week we were pleased to welcome back, past head girl, Amelia who came in and shared her story of what she has been up to since leaving us in 2018. Amelia had been dead set on studying Biosciences & Healthcare Sciences but within a year of her undergraduate course, whilst out on a hospital laboratory placement, she realised that this was not the career for her.
Amelia then embarked on a journey of resilience and perseverance to today, where she is now a registered midwife starting a new job at Southampton Hospital this week. Amelia spoke of how you can always use opportunities to grow and even when her first degree course did not work out, she used the experience and skills developed to grasp a new opportunity and transition onto a different town, university and degree course.
